Deciding to remodel your kitchen is an easy choice. The floor is worn. The cabinets are outdated. Your refrigerator is small and your oven runs hot. However, now that the decision has been made, what should you do?

Your first step is to determine exactly what about the room needs fixed or updated. Clean out your cupboards and de-clutter the space. Determine if you need more storage. Decide which appliances will need replaced.

Next you should review magazines, books, and showrooms to decide exactly what you would like in your new modern kitchen. Which colors do you prefer? Which styles complement your home? Is there a particular pattern or texture that you favor? Consider contacting the professional design team at Today’s Kitchens for an extensive analysis of your needs and assistance in choosing a style specifically for you.

Professional designers can assist you in joining function with fashion. Experienced and trained individuals will help determine a satisfying color palette with woods and finishes that work in harmony with the overall design. Architectural styles will also be established. The Today’s Kitchens staff can help you establish which appliances you need and the best choices for your space and budget. With a professional’s help, your kitchen will feel like home. You will no longer need to search for items in your cupboards, nor wonder why the plates are stored so far from the dishwasher. Everything will be as it should. If your newly remodeled kitchen is done right, your kitchen chores will be simpler and your life will be easier.

French Country Kitchen versus French Provencal Kitchen

French Country Kitchen

French Country Kitchen

The charm of France extends beyond its corner cafes and delectable cuisine. Yet food is such an integral part of the French culture. The kitchen hearth is a gathering place for families and a symbol of comfort and love.

The beauty of the French kitchen design is a popular choice among those who are remodeling their homes. French Country and French Provencal themes are not just for country-style homes. The designs are elegant and rustic, stylish while charming. These modern kitchen designs bring the warmth of France to your home.

French Provencal Kitchen

French Provencal Kitchen

Both the French Country and French Provencal themes are distinctive designs by Wm Ohs from the original flagship custom cabinet program, Theme Stylings. The designs make use of natural materials such as stone and wood. Bright colors such as yellows, greens, and oranges accent this style in the form of paint, accessories, and flowers. Metal light fixtures and furniture contrast the sunny, warm tones with a dull, steel appearance. Flooring is usually a natural material, such as wooden boards, stone, or brick.

An important characteristic of Provencal design that is not common in the French Country kitchen design is the use of vivid – sometimes ornate – fabric designs. The brightly colored materials are often united with seemingly clashing designs, such as plaids, stripes, or checks. However, the overall result is one of timeless traditions. Recurring motifs include flowers – particularly sunflowers and lavender, foods like grapes and olives, as well as roosters or ladybugs.

The French Country kitchen theme uses the muted colors of olive green, cobalt blue, pale yellows, and rust orange. Wooden cabinets and polished countertops add to the charm.

Whichever French styled kitchen design you choose, you’re sure to feel right at home.

What color should my kitchen be?

Choosing kitchen colors

Choosing kitchen colors

Spending so much time in our kitchens it is important that we create a beautiful energy with color in our kitchens. Much of our day we are cooking because we eat several times a day. Even if you’re one to eat and run and are one to cook with little time, you’re still going to enter your kitchen to make a cold beverage, to peer out the window, to wash dishes, and to do other committed kitchen duties we all have day to day. No matter your living situation a positive energy should be created in the kitchen because we are in and out of our kitchens throughout the day.

When I was a young girl my parents let me have at the house with choosing paint colors for our home. Sure I shared the task with my siblings, but my kitchen was special. We chose our kitchen to be a country yellow. Our kitchen consisted of many windows and was a decent size but still not quite considered large. Painting our kitchen a country yellow made our kitchen look larger and created a quality of freshness being we had many windows. Still to this day, I love yellow kitchens, light in yellow or bright in yellow.
You may not prefer a yellow kitchen so I would like to provide you a few tips of reason when picking paint color for your kitchen design. Start with fabric color swatches in all colors and tape them to your wall. What color do you feel best about in looking at your colorful swatches for your kitchen? The color you choose is where you start. Depending on the choice, a warm or cool color, the next step is to look at different colors in that range of color that made you feel the best about your kitchen. Another great idea is to visit different home décor websites or locations and look at their sample kitchen designs that offer the range in colors you feel best about. No matter what color you chose, have fun and take your time in the color you do chose for your kitchen design.

Compliments Dining rooms

Our lives have become so busy. With work, school, meetings, sports, and other activities, many families are finding that they hardly ever get to spend quality time together. You have to make time to enjoy each other, and family meals at the table are the perfect way to do just that. Even if you are unable to eat dinner at the table every night due to schedule conflicts, be sure to try to do so as often as possible. Perhaps plan a day of the week that other activities must take a backseat to the family meal.

When you do eat at the table, do not allow distractions, like the television or the phone, interrupt your time together. Unplug the TV and shut off the phone’s ringer. Set the table. Enlist your children to help. Even very young children can help by handing out napkins or carrying plastic bottle condiments. Set the mood by lighting candles and playing soft music.

Dinner conversation is the best time to catch up with your family. It is the time to find out how your daughter’s science fair project is coming along. Or how your son likes his new book. Or how your spouse’s meeting went. But it goes beyond that. Try to make each other laugh with silly jokes or play I Spy or tell stories.

Today’s Kitchens offers stunning compliments dining room setsets that will provide the perfect spot for those intimate family gatherings. These sturdy and elegant dining sets will last a lifetime and be passed down to your children. Along with all the memories made during family meal times.

With this beautiful dining room furniture, you are all set for your next dinner party. A themed party is always fun and offers opportunities to show your creative side. Themes can be based on occasion, such as a birthday or holiday, or it can be centered on an idea. Some great party themes include Oriental, Moroccan, Luau or an era – the 50’s or the 70’s are always enjoyable.

Once a theme is chosen, you should begin preparations for your dinner party. Choose background music that accompanies your theme. Plan a menu that also corresponds, such as Spicy Braised Scallops and Jade Chicken for a Chinese themed party. Don’t forget to get some personalized fortune cookies for your guests. Your next project is planning decorations. If your theme is the Arts, try decorating Warhol-style. Line your countertop with Campbell’s Soup cans. Paint over black and white photographs of your guests in bold, bright colors and display them proudly. You may even choose to send them home with your guests.

Invitations must also be in keeping with your theme. Yearbook Yourself is a great tool to create invitations for era themed parties. Be original. For instance, send Hawaiian flowers to your guests as their invitation to a Luau-themed party.

Regardless of the theme you choose, your next dinner party is a guaranteed success with the help of a dining room set from Today’s Kitchens. Your meal will be perfectly framed when placed on a compliments table.

My Planet Kitchen

My Planet Kitchen

In my world, nothing is complicated. My relationships are a breeze, my job is fun, and my house is spotless. On my planet, life is pleasurable. My shoes are comfortable, my lipstick doesn’t fade, and eggs don’t stick to the pans. In my mind, elegance reigns. A t-shirt and jeans can still be fashionable. A simple pony tail can make a statement. High heels are not the quintessential element of style. Well, maybe life does not always go as I planned in my world, but I can at least have it my way with My Planet by Today’s Kitchens.

My Planet is natural, informal and contemporary – a new concept that creates your personal kitchen as you want it. Sleek and versatile, this modern kitchen design will make your dreams come true. Italian designers at Varenna created technically-evolved solutions for informal kitchen with highly efficient functions.. The result is a completely practical kitchen with convenient features and effective layout. And yet, the My Planet contemporary kitchen is elegant, chic, and stylish. It is a little black dress with stiletto heels. It is a curly up-do with red hot lipstick. It is perfection.

So my relationships may have some issues and perhaps my job is a bore. Maybe my shoes pinch my toes and my skirt is always wrinkled. At least I know that at the end of the day, I can return home to My Planet. On my planet, the pans are near the stove, the counter space is abundant, and of course, the eggs do not stick to the pans.

Modern kitchens – Twelve Kitchen

Twelve Kitchen

Your house is a gathering place for quaint parties with a few friends or large get-togethers with extended family. You feel that your kitchen – while an important part of the house – should not look like a traditional kitchen. Your mother’s kitchen counters are crowded with small appliances such as the toaster, a coffee pot, the blender, a griddle and more. A microwave is mounted under the cabinets and a hulking, mustard yellow refrigerator is against the wall. There are rooster salt and pepper shakers on the kitchen table. The cookie jar sings when you put your hand inside. While this style suits your mother perfectly, you do not want this kitchen. You want a room that is the opposite of your mother’s kitchen. You want Twelve.

Twelve, by Today’s Kitchens, is the result of meticulous research into a design of minimal horizontal thickness and maximum width of surfaces. The freedom inherent in the modular arrangements allows you to create an un-kitchen. You can assemble a room that is free from the clutter of small appliances. The large appliances, such as the refrigerator and stove, are inconspicuous as they fit seamlessly into the wall.

Twelve contemporary kitchen is an exceptional mix of chrome and wood, a cheerful co-existence of light and dark. It lends itself as a perfect room to gather for an intimate dinner party, a boys’ poker night, or a romantic dinner for two. Available in a variety of materials and finishes, this modern kitchen can be personalized for your taste to complement your home.
